Thestudyonproteinsciencewillgiveusmoreknowledgeoflifeinmolecular,cellularandintegratedlevel,withthedeepinvestigationintothestructure,function,interactionanddynamicchangesofprotein.Itisoneofthemostimportantresearchfieldsduringthepost-genomeeraoflifescience.Theresultsofproteinscienceresearchwillbringforthnovelbiotechnologyandcontributetothedevelopmentofmedicine,agricultureandgreenindustry.The1stand2ndPacific-RimInternationalConferenceonProteinScience,separatelyheldduringApril14-18,2004,inYokohama,Japan,andJune22-26,2008,inCairns,Australia,haveprovidedwonderfulplatformstopromotetheexchangeofresearchideasandcollaborationbetweenproteinresearchersallovertheworld,especiallyintheAsian-Pacificregion.AsiaPacificProteinAssociation(APPA)andTheProteinSocietyareorganizingthethirdconferenceinconjunctionwiththe3rdSymposiumoftheChineseProteinSociety.Meanwhile,tocelebrate100thanniversaryoftheBiochemicalSociety,asatelliteSino-UKproteinsymposiumwillbeheldinthesamevenueduringMay5-7,2011,co-sponsoredbytheBiochemicalSocietyandtheChineseProteinSociety,overlappingonthefirstdayofthe3rdAPPAconference.Asthehostofthisgreatevent,theChineseProteinSocietywillverywellmakethearrangementsandwarmlywelcomethecolleaguesinthiscommunitytojoinus.TheofficiallanguageduringtheconferenceisEnglish.
